Coachella

I´m going to talk about Coachella and what it represents. It is an arts and music festival that is yearly held  at the Colorado Desert, in Indio, California. Actually, it is a very big festival that is celebrated over two consecutive weekends every April. Many people attend it, including celebrities like pop stars, movie stars, famous bands and sometimes even the famous angels of Victoria´s Secret.

The event has many types of music, like electronic, rock, indie, hip-hop and pop music. But, apart from the music, it also has visual art elements, like giant sculptures or figures all over the valley of Coachella and most of them are interactive.

There are several stages across the grounds that this festival has, and they host constant live music by many popular singers who perform on them. Coachella is one of the biggest and most popular music festival in the USA and all over the world. This festival is also well known for the tradition of people wearing hippie clothes from the 70´s.

The first time the festival was celebrated was in October of 1999, and it was founded by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen; now it is organized by Goldenvoice. In 2000 they didn´t celebrate the festival, and finally in 2001 they celebrated it in April, and from then, it has been celebrated during those days.

Half a million people usually attend this festival, and you have to be quick if you want to get a ticket to go to it, because it usually takes only 1 day for all the tickets from both weekends to be sold out. Also, you´ll have to break your piggy bank, because it is expensive. But, is it worth it? Well, many people say it is, because it is very well decorated, all the staff and the people working there are super friendly and it is a great opportunity to meet really interesting people. Besides, there are many kinds of music that you can enjoy and some of the most famous music artists perform there. And last but not least, according to many people, it is one of the best experiences you can have to make irreplaceable memories.

  1. I think it is impossible now to convince my parents to go to California to see a music festival hahaha, so maybe next time. Since I know about this, I imaging how would it be if I was there. I think that when you are there, you just forget about the problems and the preoccupations you have, and the only thing you think about is to have fun. I have enjoy so much reading this post and in the future I will go to see the festival and to meet new people.

  2. Wow it would be great to be there. The fact that it is only celebrated in California is a huge problem. For the moment, it would be impossible for me to be there. If the festival becomes even more well known in the rest of the world, it will perhabs be celebrated in other countries. I would like that to happen.

  3. I think it could be a great plan to get away 2 weeks of your problems and your environment. The problem that I see is that it is very expensive and California is very far from Spain. Therefore, we can enjoy Tomorrowland, an electronic music festival in Boom, Belgium.

  7. WOW. It is amazing! It would be fantastic to go there, with your friends, have fun, know new people, discover other types of music... It sounds so good!
The problem is that it is too far away from Spain, and also, too expensive.
Nevertheless, it is worth it for the people living in the USA. It seems they are having too much fun!

The only problem I see is that California is so far from Spain and is the only place in with this type of things are doing. I will prefer to go much near and I will go without problem. It will be an incredible and alucinant experience for me!!!
